I lost my memory, not my voice 🗣

Fiction writer 📚 Epilepsy Warrior 🧠

Resham has been writing professionally for 19 years for workplace newspapers at McGill University, the Toronto French School, and Centennial College, where she works as a Communications Specialist. While studying political science at McGill, essay writing was always one of her strengths. She once intended to pursue a master’s in journalism—until her brain had other plans.

Though her seizures are now controlled, she spent thirteen years living with uncontrolled epilepsy. Having experienced significant memory loss as a result, she wanted to tell a story about a character who is not defined by her illness. As a South Asian woman, she also wanted to weave her heritage into the story.

Resham lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter. When she’s not writing, she’s playing Scrabble over a nice cup of hot chai.

“There were some memories, though, that never faded.”
